Throughout my ADHD medication titration Carol was there to help and support me. The original medication that I tried didn't work well and Carol was very helpful in trying to rectify this and finding a suitable medication. Carol has helped me so much and her help has actually changed my life for the better, not all of the changes were medication based so also gave me some pointers in things that I needed to change in my lifestyle such as eating regularly. I know I am not the easiest person to deal with sometimes and I can be very forgetful, however throughout everything Carol was very patient and understanding, speaking to her always seemed to be very calming and reassuring and I think this is one of the main reasons I found it much easier than I expected. Being able to send Carol any concerns that I had was also very helpful and I was very surprised by how quickly she responded to every message, I think it said to allow up to 48 hours for a response but Carol always responded to my concerns well before this. I am very grateful for everything she has done. Thank you again.

During my medication titration for Adhd, Carol was my prescribing nurse. She was very helpful through the whole process and gave me lots of clear and helpful information. Carol answered my questions quickly and helped me understand the medication and it's effects. Having someone on hand to answer any questions made me feel confident about the process and Carol was always very kind and understanding.

Working through an ADHD diagnosis, making the decision to go on medication and take that journey was/is a minefield and though daunting is also one of hope. It requires a skilled healthcare professional who endeavours to see the whole person not only the condition. This is vital in supporting the individual as they work through that transition and requires patience and empathy. For this, I am very grateful for Carols service and dedication. Carol is driven by a desire to help and support throughout and in my case she worked to help me understand and manage expectations.Carol went beyond an online portal which for me seemed transactional and on request checked in with calls. This was important to my journey in particular the emotional one as we worked to find the medication and dose most suitable practically. Her dedication, desire to help and support throughout was incredibly professional. Carol stands out because she is client centred. Many Thanks.

After being diagnosed with ADHD this year, Carol was my percribing nurse helping me find the right treatment. The treatment itself has been life changing. They aren't kidding when they say medication is like putting glasses on for the first time. But putting the medication aside the treatment i got from Carol was exceptional. I was very nervous to start medication and she took the time to call me and answer any questions i had. She made me feel a lot calmer and didn't make me feel like i was being silly. She has been wonderful through out this journey and was always quick to respond to any questions i had a long the way. She made me feel listened to and that i mattered. She gave good advice and made sure that i knew everything i needed to about the medication so i always felt safe in her care. If you're lucky enough to get her as your nurse rest assured you are in great hands. I can't thank her enough for all she's done.

Profile

I am a registered nurse prescriber. I started my journey as a mental health nurse by completing the recognised nursing course in the UK. Since qualifying as a nurse in 2011, I have worked in acute inpatient and community settings. I have helped pioneered the start of an NHS Adult ADHD service in 2011 and developed the service together with a Consultant Psychiatrist and provided a nurse led service for adults. Since 2011, I have participated in training conferences to help train other clinicians who were planning to start an adult ADHD service in their locality or those who have just started working in an adult ADHD service. I have given talks about the nurse led Adult ADHD service that I have helped pioneered in conferences/training sessions.

I was voted Clinician of The Year in 2017 in the NHS Trust I was working with, and this reflects my dedication and commitment to continue to develop my nursing practice and deliver the best nursing intervention to those in need.
